Our mission is to make your stay as comfortable as possible while treating you as a guest in our home, not merely a visitor to our motel.
About Us:
Dan and Elizabeth Barclay were married in 2003. Dan served 25 yrs
in the Navy, including service in Desert Storm before he retired. He then moved
to Central Oregon where he obtained degrees in
Criminal Justice and Political Science. Elizabeth
has an extensive background in sales and hospitality. She was born in England and moved to Australia as an adult. As one of
six State Managers, Elizabeth facilitated
management level courses for Fortune 500 companies before joining Dan in Central Oregon.
Together, they decided to shop for a business that would
allow them to work together and use their collective skills to provide a quality product for their clients.
They learned that the Cascade Motel and Mini Storage was for sale while making a room reservation to stay at the Cascade Motel
for a hunting expedition near Oakridge. The rest is now history.
They purchased the Cascade Motel in April of 2007. Since then they have achieved several awards in the hospitality industry. These include:
- Oregon Quality Certified by Oregon Tourism Commission in customer service.
- Travel Oregon Rural Tourism Studio certified as Oregon Tourism Community Leader
- Travel Oregon certified as "Bike Friendly"
- IMBA (International Mountain Biking Association) Supporters
